Calculation methodology

How calculations are built

Every calculator on this platform follows the same four-step approach: measure the project, apply the product specification, add installation and waste assumptions, then round to purchase-ready quantities.

Theoretical requirement vs. purchase quantity

The theoretical material requirement — based on exact dimensions — is always shown separately from the purchase quantity, which accounts for waste and is rounded up to full packs, boxes, bags or rolls.

Waste and installation assumptions

Default waste percentages reflect common installation patterns, but every assumption is editable so you can match your own product data sheet and site conditions.

Units and currency

Metric and imperial units are both supported and can be switched at any time. Changing the selected currency changes the display only — prices are never converted automatically.

Limitations

Results are planning estimates. They are not contractor quotations, structural calculations or regulatory approvals. Always confirm manufacturer specifications and site conditions before ordering.
